Surgical Brigades

Surgical professionals are invited to join our Surgical Brigades program. Within this program, 8-10 professionals work as a team to address routine surgical needs among community members in order to reduce wait times and reduce the load on heavily overburdened hospital systems.

Next Surgical Brigade: Dates TBD

Volunteer Eligibility

All participants must be licensed professionals. At this time, we do NOT offer opportunities for students to shadow professionals in our surgical program. We accept the following types of volunteers:

  • General Surgeons

Common Surgical Cases

Cases during a Surgical Brigade are limited to routine, low-risk procedures and are accepted based on the types of professionals and specialists present in the Surgical Brigade group. In the past, common procedures have included cleft lips and palates, syndactylies, broken bones that had not healed correctly, disfiguring neurofibromatosis, etc.
