Top Needs Expressed

The top needs expressed by the community members are for access to medicine and the construction of sanitary units in all homes in the community.

Education

The community has a central school serving 165 primary school students and 135 secondary school students . Additionally, 112 high school students travel to this school on Saturdays for school. Becuase this community is in the center of many other small commuities, students travel from surrounding areas to attend this school.

Water

The government built the water system about 15 years ago and the water reached 72% of homes. However, now the community relys on community wells because there is not enough electricity to run the in-home water system.

Health

This community has a health center built by the Nicaraguan governement. The biggest difficulty this health center faces is not having professionals to staff the center (there is only one nurse) and not having the proper supplies and medications to treat those visitng.
