Current Community Initiatives
Currently there is a bore hole being constructed by
a NGO based in Accra. It is set to be completed and opened for use this year. The bore hole will charge 10 GHP per bucket of water to cover maintenance and electricity.
The Queen Mother of Ekrawfo, Nana Esi, is extremely active in the development of the community, especially involving youth and women. She has a cooperative for women and men to receive skills-based training within the arts. Through the sales of the arts and crafts, women and men have the ability to earn an extra income, which she promotes to reinvest in their children, family and community. Furthermore she has started a dance troop for children and young adults as an extra curricular activity.
One of our sponsored referral patients, Emmanuel, was identified at a previous clinic in Ekrawfo. If you are interested in finding out more information about Emmanuel or willing to contribute to his future please visit his Empowered page here: http://www.empowered.org/Emmanuel-Mensah
