Tonito
In September of 2013, 14 year old Tonito was introduced to us on behalf of the Community Health Worker Program. Tonito came to visit Dr. Bruce to see if anything could be done for the loss of his eyesight.
Tonito was diagnosed with Cataracts. Cataracts is a clouding of the normally clear lens of your eye. It is generally treatable but if left un treated for some time, it interferes with vision.
Tonito had lost his vision about 2-3 months prior to meeting him. Because of his loss of eye-sight, he has needed assistance walking.
The patient referral team took Tonito to his initial appointment. The doctor had informed us that there was nothing more we could do to reverse his impaired vision.
