Mirtila Zalgado
During the first clinic day of the UNC Chapel Hill brigade in the community of Naranjal, the group came across 91 year old, Mirtila Zalgado. Mirtila has hypertension and Parkinson's disease. The brigade was able to provide her with medication to control her blood pressure.
After speaking with Mirtila, the group spoke with their coordinator about getting a walker for this patient. Global Brigade's pharmacy had a walker that they were able to donate to Mirtila. The walker was delivered the following day to this patient. Thank you to the UNC Chapel Hill brigaders for speaking with their coordinator and bringing this case to our attention!
