During the UNC Chapel Hill brigade in the community of Naranjal, the brigade was asked to go on a home visit.  At this visit, the group met this 85 year old man, Carlos Matute.  Carlos had a stroke in 2013 and has left him with trouble walking.  During the home visit the group had learned that Carlos has hypertension as well.  The brigade provided him with medication to regulate and control his blood pressure.  Due to his stroke, he normally sits in his chair and does not move much.  The doctor on the brigade had advised him to keep using his muscles and to keep walking and to be as mobile as possible.  With this suggestion, the group decided to donate funds to purchase Carlos a walker.

The patient referral team was able to deliver the walker the following week to Carlos.  Thank you to all of those who helped with the donation of Carlos' walker!!!
