Yasmilia has previously planted guandu beans, along with plantains and yucca on her family farm. The field is currently empty, and work can begin at any time.

• Mrs. Bacorizo planted guandu beans for the first time in 2015. These should be ready for harvest
in February of 2016. She has previously experimented with planting rice as well, though this was
not profitable, as the production was only enough for famiyl consumption. At the moment, Mrs.
Bacorizo is primarily supported through sales of crafts, and through her husband.
Business Opportunity:
• Mrs. Bacorizo is incredibly motivated to earn new income, to better support her family through
improved housing and education.
• She has participated in Global Brigades financial literacy workshops covering savings and
budgeting.
• She is planning to restructure her sowing and harvesting cycle to take advantage of peak price
