San Geronimo Healthcare Access
San Geronimo is a community located in the South of Honduras near the Pacific Ocean. San Geronimo has a CESAR, or the smaller of the two different types of health centers that the Honduran government provides. Here, patients may seek consultations from nurses only. Dental care is not available at the health center. If patients need to see a doctor or dentist they must travel to a CESAMO in Nacaome or San Lorenzo, one of two nearby municipalities. To reach these health centers community members must take a bus up to 30 minutes or walk up to 2 hours.
Community Demographics
San Geronimo is home to about 1,329 people and has about 265 homes, with an average of 5 inhabitants per home. San Geronimo is located close to our Global Brigades compound in South Honduras and community members have decent access to San Lorenzo, a major urban area. During brigades, patients come from over 5 different communities to receive medical and dental care.

Brigade Site Information
The brigade is held at the school since it has much more space than the health center. This school serves not only children from the community but children from many surrounding communities, therefore it has ample space with 17 schoolrooms available for brigades.
