Current Community Initiatives
A nutrition project, supported by the Government of Ghana, called the Triumf project is currently being run by the six community health volunteers in the community. Two to three volunteers distribute nutrition supplements on a weekly basis to children ages 6 months to 1.5 years. Depending on the results of the two year program, the Government of Ghana may adopt the nutrition supplements to use nation-wide to combat malnutrition of children under 1.5 years old.
Although there is not a Community Development Fund, there is a Village Savings and Loans Association located in the community, which offers community members the ability to safely save.
One of our sponsored referral patients, Emmanuel, was identified at a previous clinic in Ekrawfo. If you are interested in finding out more information about Emmanuel or willing to contribute to his future please visit his Empowered page here: http://www.empowered.org/Emmanuel-Mensah
