Passionate About:
As a hopeful future member of Doctors Without Borders, I am passionate about overcoming the linguistic, cultural, and legislative barriers that pose a threat to equitable access to healthcare both domestically and abroad. I strongly believe that accessible healthcare is a right, and that professionals in this field must work to elevate what is considered a baseline quality of life in aspects that exceed pathology. In my current research at the University of Texas at Austin as a Pre-Med Neuroscience major, I focus on the ways in which health outcomes for LatinX/Hispanic Traumatic Brain Injury patients may be improved through proper educational materials, language concordance, and culturally competent curriculums for physicians.
