Passionate About:

I am currently a 4th year student at UCCS studying Biomedical Science. I have grown up with a strong interest in Medicine due to my constant exposure to the medical environment throughout my life. From an early age, I have had various medical complications and surgeries that initially sparked my interest in the way medicine was practiced and how patients were dealt with in the clinical setting. I have had my fair share of great and not-so-great experiences which has motivated me to pursue medicine and make sure each patient experience is comfortable and the overall outcome improves their quality of life. I believe that this Medical Brigade to Nicaragua will help equip me with new clinical skills and give me exposure to a different cultural and medical practice. This exposure will enlighten me about new health issues outside of the United States, learn the importance of patient-caregiver communication, and add to my existing knowledge of healthcare.
