My name is Avalon and I am a graduate student at Governors State University. My field of study is communication disorders. I hope to achieve my desire of becoming a speech-language pathologist. Just as many public health professionals, speech-language pathologists must be knowledgeable when treating culturally and linguistically diverse patients. Travelling the world is one way I can enhance my knowledge of other cultures. As a part of the GSU team, I cannot wait to work with my teammates to provide to the Nicaraguan community; I hope to make a difference in all the people I encounter.
