As many of you know I was able to go to Nicaragua last March to participate in a medical brigade with the App state chapter of global brigades. I not only gained a lot of insight about the difficulties that many faced living in rural areas in Nicaragua, but what matters most is the citizens of the community gained access to medical, dental, gynelogical, and pharmaceutical care that is much more difficult to come by compared with the access in the US. This year I have the opportunity to go again on a medical brigade to Honduras as a leader for other students from Appalachian State. I am so passionate about health, nutrition, and overall well being both in my local community, as well as the rest of the world, and I am lucky enough to be able to have the capability to give back to others. As many of you know there is a lot of political tension in Honduras, and they need help more than ever during this difficult period of violence in their country. Whether you are able to donate to help me out or not, I ask that you keep citizens of Honduras in your thoughts and prayers of whatever religion you may practice, as well as myself as I raise money for this medical brigade!
